Wholesale electricity prices in the U.S. fell by more than half last year, driven largely by a decline of more than 50% in natural gas prices in what looks like a permanent shift in the domestic energy market, according to a recent government report.

Iran Storing Oil at Sea Due to Weak Demand

Iran, the world’s fifth-largest oil producing nation, is increasing the amount of oil is stores in tankers at sea. Iranian officials say this is due to refinery overhauls and seasonality, but some industry players believe it’s due to an inability to sell all of their production right now.

U.S. Geothermal Projects Increase in Year, Extend to Gulf Coast

Do rising oil prices threaten the economic recovery?

Oil had been holding around $80/barrel over the last month, but traded as high as $87 last week, leading the Financial Times to ask whether oil could give the “kiss of death to recovery.” Here is how I would answer that question.
